if u want other's respect, first u must have a respect for yourself

Self respect

In today’s society, many people are concerned with matters of self-esteem. In fact, people are paying too much attention to self-esteem and neglecting another crucial concept, self-respect. To have self-respect means to accept yourself. Not only must we turn our negatives into positives, but we must also accept our lives as they are. Once you gain self-respect, you will be happy with who you are. In order to achieve this goal, you must accept your family, yourself, and your limitations.

Once in a while, you might feel ashamed about your family. For example, when parents dress like they aren’t as liberal as other parents, some might feel embarrassed to show up with them. Whatever it is that they do, you must remember that they love you no matter what. Having a caring family is sometimes hard to find. When you are confronted with a hurtful situation, they are always there to help you get through your dilemma. Whatever goal you set for yourself, your family will be your greatest support. Being aware that you have people who love you and care for you unconditionally should give you a sense of belonging, which is a great feeling of comfort and brings you a step closer to self-respect.

Everyone has something that they do not like about themselves. Whether it’s their look, personality, or mentality, people must always remember that everyone is special in their own unique way. Although it sounds weird, there is always at least one special skill that each and every person is good at. It is always good to try to be the best at whatever skill you are good at. When people bring you down, remember that nobody is perfect. Keeping a positive attitude helps you see life in a brighter light.

You should not dislike yourself for that, nor should it be a reason to limit yourself to other things. Not being able to do something perfect is okay. Nobody was made perfect. Accepting your limitations does not mean quitting. It just means you should work just a little bit harder at what you can do, and not beat yourself up for it.

In a world filled with uncertainty and doubt, we must learn not to keep evaluating ourselves. It is enough that there are other people that will do that for us. Instead we should take pride in what we do and who we are. Learning acceptance makes life more peaceful and pleasant, both for us and our family.

a small story

A Small Story

A boy and a girl were playing together. The boy had a collection of marbles. The girl had some sweets with her. The boy told the girl that he will give her all his marbles in exchange for her sweets. The girl agreed.
The boy kept the biggest and the most beautiful marble aside and gave the rest to the girl. The girl gave him all her sweets as she had promised.
That night, the girl slept peacefully. But the boy couldn't sleep as he kept wondering if the girl had hidden some sweets from him the way he had hidden his best marble.

Moral of the story:If you don't give your hundred percent in a relationship, you'll always keep doubting if the other person has given his/her hundred percent.. This is applicable for any relationship like love, friendship, employer-employee relationship etc., Give your hundred percent to everything you do and sleep peacefully ...

I miss you so much

There are moments in life when you miss someone so much that you just want to pick them from your dreams

and

hug them for real!

( in regards of my precious friend who was always there when it was raining )

He and I

He and I,

When words run dry,

he does not try,

nor do I.

We are on par.

He just is,

I just am

and we just are.

-Lang Leav

what are we doing with our life? really no kidding

I've been thinking for a long time about what we do in our life...

We start by being taught in school how to become good citizens. We spend a great part of our childhood studying,  and finally we get the diploma that will ensure us “the position we deserve”. We participate to the increase of unemployment  ...until we find a job. Through hard tests we are accepted in the world of work. We perform a good professional career filled with activity and efforts …a lot, a lot of efforts... till we fall down exhausted...BUT we are great professionals with our valuable market share. Time keeps  on passing, and...we select new targets. We meet the sweetheart of our life...and promise a neverending love. Passionate hugs, and here comes a baby into our home. Damned night, couldn’t close my eyes! We keep on advancing in the society trying to make  the best of our time. We are the stars wherever we go and we are finally RICH! But we need some time more to triumph completely. Gosh! One day they tell they can do without you. By this time, you think getting crazy, you feel destroyed, you feel you lost means of communication. You realise you are cut off from everything. Now time does not pass any longer, still you are loosing it. You realise you’ve been living in the fog in search of a silly target. You become a walking ghost trying to escape your enemies. You are the only one longing for the hours to pass till your time comes.

Upon this evaluation, an idea came to my mind on how to improve my life.

I'll take things easy. I'll try to open my heart to my love. I'll listen more to the ones surrounding me. I'll save more time to spend it with my friends. I'll try to travel more. No, karaoke I'll never do, but I believeI'll sing more. I'll go more times to the seaside. I'll make my best to cook tasty food. I'll join my friends’ warmth. A bit love more. I'll be happier to get news from my friends...and achieve together common objectives I can’t be sure, but I believe it worths trying. “Well, say what you want, but I am a nice guy!” I'll co-operate clean the world from nasty people. And I hope they won’t stop me when my time comes...

I do not know whether it is good for everybody, but I’m sure that at least I will have had a wonderful time… which by the way is what counts more.

DON’T YOU THINK SO?

Modal Verbs or modal auxiliaries

Modal Verbs (modal auxiliaries)

Modal auxiliary verbs may sound difficult but in fact they're easy. They are invariable (no conjugation). And the main verb is always the "bare infinitive" (the infinitive without "to").

Can, Could, Be able to

Can and could are modal auxiliary verbs. Be able to is NOT an auxiliary verb (it uses the verb be as a main verb). We include be able to here for convenience.

Have to, Must, Must not/ mustn't
Must is a modal auxiliary verb. Have to is NOT an auxiliary verb (it uses the verb have as a main verb). We include have to here for convenience.

Shall versus will / Should versus would
People may sometimes tell you that there is no difference between shall and will, or even that today nobody uses shall (except in offers such as "Shall I call a taxi?"). They say the same thing about should, but it's not really true.

Would

Would is an auxiliary verb, a modal auxiliary verb. We use would mainly to talk about the past, talk about the future in the past and express the conditional mood.

Should
Should is an auxiliary verb, a modal auxiliary verb. We use should mainly to give advice or make recommendations, talk about obligation or talk about probability and expectation.

A, An or The?

A, An or The?

When do we say "the dog" and when do we say "a dog"? (On this page we talk only about singular, countable nouns.)

The and a/an are called "articles". We divide them into "definite" and "indefinite" like this:

Articles
Definite Indefinite
the a, an

We use "definite" to mean sure, certain. "Definite" is particular.

We use "indefinite" to mean not sure, not certain. "Indefinite" is general.

When we are talking about one thing in particular, we use the. When we are talking about one thing in general, we use a or an.

Think of the sky at night. In the sky we see 1 moon and millions of stars. So normally we would say:

  • I saw the moon last night.
  • I saw a star last night.

Look at these examples:

the a, an
  • The capital of France is Paris.
  • I have found the book that I lost.
  • Have you cleaned the car?
  • There are six eggs in the fridge.
  • Please switch off the TV when you finish.
  • I was born in a town.
  • John had an omelette for lunch.
  • James Bond ordered a drink.
  • We want to buy an umbrella.
  • Have you got a pen?

Of course, often we can use the or a/an for the same word. It depends on the situation, not the word. Look at these examples:

  • We want to buy an umbrella. (Any umbrella, not a particular umbrella.)
  • Where is the umbrella? (We already have an umbrella. We are looking for our umbrella, a particular umbrella.)
This little story should help you understand the difference between the and a, an:

A man and a woman were walking in Oxford Street. The woman saw a dress that she liked in a shop. She asked the man if he could buy the dress for her. He said: "Do you think the shop will accept a cheque? I don't have a credit card."

what is grammar?

What is Grammar?

Think of grammar as a signpost.

Grammar is the system of a language. People sometimes describe grammar as the "rules" of a language; but in fact no language has rules*. If we use the word "rules", we suggest that somebody created the rules first and then spoke the language, like a new game. But languages did not start like that. Languages started by people making sounds which evolved into words, phrases and sentences. No commonly-spoken language is fixed. All languages change over time. What we call "grammar" is simply a reflection of a language at a particular time.

Do we need to study grammar to learn a language? The short answer is "no". Very many people in the world speak their own, native language without having studied its grammar. Children start to speak before they even know the word "grammar". But if you are serious about learning a foreign language, the long answer is "yes, grammar can help you to learn a language more quickly and more efficiently." It's important to think of grammar as something that can help you, like a friend. When you understand the grammar (or system) of a language, you can understand many things yourself, without having to ask a teacher or look in a book.

So think of grammar as something good, something positive, something that you can use to find your way - like a signpost or a map.

* Except invented languages like Esperanto. And if Esperanto were widely spoken, its rules would soon be very different.
